We’re The Wheat Ridge Transmission Repair Experts You’ve Been Looking For

Car transmissions are very complicated mechanical systems. Put simply, they transfer power from your car’s engine to the wheels. Your car’s transmission ensures that your car uses the right gear ratio so that your engine doesn’t have to work too hard.

The easiest way to explain this is to think of a bicycle. When you’re starting from a complete stop, you need to be in a low gear or you won’t be able to turn the pedals. But if you stay in this low gear after you’re moving, you won’t get to top speed without pedaling ridiculously fast.

To be more efficient with your pedaling, you shift into a higher gear once you’re moving. Then when you’re slowing down, you shift to a lower gear again in anticipation of having to start pedaling without any momentum.

A transmission rebuild in progress. Mechanic has cleaned parts and has them on the bench prepared for assembly.

This is how a car’s transmission works, too. Instead of you turning the pedals, your car’s engine is the one doing all the work. As the engine cranks, the transmission transfers the power to the wheels at the right gear ratio as you increase and decrease speed.

The transmission ensures the engine is turning at the ideal revolutions per minute so that it isn’t ever working too hard. All of this is happening while you and your car move down the road.

We’ve been servicing transmissions for the better part of a decade. After nearly 10 years of working on them, we are experts when it comes to rebuilding transmissions.
